Whatever Happened to Sept 11?

It’s been 8 years since Sept 11, 2001, and what’s changed? Anything? Tell me what you think in the comments.

It’s interesting to note that since the Bush Administration left office, there hasn’t been much talk — if any at all — about 9/11 or Sept 11, 2001.

Was it all scare tactics?

I won’t go so far as to suggest that the Bush admin played a part in bringing down the World Trade Center (WTC) or hijacking airplanes, BUT I will say that they sure played the events of that fateful Sept 11 day 8 years ago for all it was worth.

In fact, the fear that those planes crashing into buildings brought upon us Americans led us to let Bush and Cheney lead us into war with not only Afghanistan (which I agreed with, but now it’s a lost cause and bin Laden is either dead or elsewhere) but also Iraq (which I never agreed with at all).

Here’s your chance to voice your opinion! Let’s get something started in the Comments!!!

9/11 and Apologizing to Pigs

Here are excerpts from Andrew Tobias about the Republicans wanting an apology from Obama for his stating the obvious and about 9/11:

APOLOGY

They want an apology for using the word lipstick?

  • How about an apology for what they’ve done to this country these last eight years?
  • They’ve cut the value of the dollar nearly in half.
  • They’ve borrowed $4 trillion from our kids to give tax cuts to billionaires.
  • They’ve sent thousands of our kids to die invading the wrong country.
  • They’ve diminished our standing in the world.
  • They’ve done nothing on health care.
  • They’ve held back stem cell research.
  • They’ve fought against worker protections and against benefits for returning veterans.
  • They’ve installed corporate lobbyists as regulators. (Their Interior Department, we learned on last night’s news, was literally in bed with the oil industry.)
  • They’ve dug us into a deep, deep hole.

And they want an apology? The only thing more ridiculous than their wanting an apology from us is their wanting four more years.

AND YES . . .

I do remember what day this is – and our great friend, Rob Deraney, whom we lost that day. (It was actually Rob who introduced Charles and me.) But the best way to honor the memory of those we lost is not, as former Mayor Rudy Gu911iani recently did, mock community organizers – the same mayor who insisted on putting the City’s emergency control center in the World Trade Center – but rather to help get our great country back on track.

FU, John McCain and Miss Piggy. Go screw yourself Rudy.

Bush Administration Gave $43 Million to Taliban: We’re So NICE

Man, we give money to everybody. It’s like money grows out of printing presses!

May 2001, the US government gave $43 million to the Taliban. I guess it wasn’t enough.

Next time, we should give them our entire cache. Then, perhaps, they’ll be grateful. Pricks.

Giuliani’s Prostate Cancer Figure Is Disputed – New York Times

Giuliani’s Prostate Cancer Figure Is Disputed – New York Times:

“The citation is an article in a highly respected intellectual journal written by an expert at a highly respected think tank which the mayor read because he is an intellectually engaged human being,” Ms. Comella said in an e-mail message.

I call bullshit.

First of all, Rudy Giuliani is a Neanderthal. Just look at his huge crown, balding scalp, and sweaty palms, not to mention his mouth-breathing, hyperbole-infesting spittle.

Second, this quote, and many others, of statistics shows a mental deficiency known as bullshitism. Rudy is full of the BS. It may be terminal.

Here’s a story from a reliable source, which also quotes the author of the study that Rudy’s campaign falsely and misleadingly quotes.

Furthermore, Rudy is always one to take a personal experience and exploit it to maximum efficacy while forgetting crucial details (just read about Rudy’s five big lies about 9/11 — it’s almost all crap).

This time, he forgets to mention that men who don’t have health insurance are more likely to die sooner than those who don’t, which is the cause the Democrat want to pursue — no health insurance versus having the government run the health care system. It’s funny (i.e., twisted) how the Dems take one stand and the Repugnicans twist it to mean something it isn’t.

Actually, men with prostate cancer are more likely to die sooner if they don’t have health insurance, according to a recent study published in one of the American Medical Association’s journals. Giuliani doesn’t mention that.

(By the way, I think the answer is neither. Rather, we need the government to step in and figure out what the hell happened to the health care industry such that it’s costs rise far faster than inflation. Then, figure out how to unravel the mess. There’s absolutely no reason why an appendectomy should cost $60,000.)

Here’s a video from firefighters telling how Rudy Giuliani is a fraud.

Rudy Giuliani is really no different than George Bush. Well, that’s not entirely true. He is worse, in every way save for religion.

Here’s more on Rudy “The Fraud” Giuliani
