Possible Landslide for Barack Obama?

First things first, what is a landslide? Of course, the prognosticators are referring to the Electoral College vote, not the popular vote. One popular pollster, who actually uses some very detailed and complex mathematics and statistics, and who’s been EXTREMELY accurate in predicting outcomes of elections and primaries, is FiveThirtyEight.com, who has the following prediction up right now:

Capturing 65 percent of the College’s votes is pretty impressive, leading to a 30 point victory. That’s HUGE. But Obama is projected to win by 6-8 percent with regard to the popular vote. So let’s not call this a blow-out. Let’s not even call it a win for Obama just yet. Stranger things have — and will again — happened.
Have you voted? Have you seen any unusual polling procedures? Voting machines working okay? I’m a “permanent vote by mail” voter, which means I’m supposed to get my ballot in the mail, fill it out, and mail it in. Only I got mine on Saturday, not giving me, or the Post Office, enough time to get it to my polling place in time. So, I’ll have to go drop it off tonight after work.
I hope I don’t have to stand in line to drop it off! That would REALLY defeat the entire purpose, wouldn’t it?
Oh, by the way, I had to call the county election office 3 times to get my ballot.
Government works. Just not very well or expeditiously.
Remember, vote early, vote often.

Vote for John Bootie?

I found this in my “drafts” folder…I got all over this guy for wanting to run for president. Here’s the dialog. He agreed I could print this.

***********************************

In my last post about John Bootie, entitled Who the hell is John Bootie?, I introduced you to a truck driver-turned politician (he claims he is not a politician, but I say he is merely by running for office) who wants to be president. I’ve seen his name floating around the web and I have had a brief dialog with him.

He’s a pleasant enough fellow. He and I don’t share many of the same views, but we can hold a civil conversation, which is more than we will be able to say for Hillary and Giuliani, those two peas in a pod from New York, if they ever go head-to-head.

In the interest of sharing opposing view points, which is truly what makes America great, I have asked John if I could post our dialog on this blog. To his credit, he said yes, as long as I didn’t post anything personal about anybody but the two of us. Fair enough. I’ve left the text as is and in chronological order.

*******************************************

Good Evening Bill,

Interesting headline you chose for your rant! So tell me what you want to know about John Bootie the candidate. Or for that fact, John Bootie the person. I will answer anything you wish to know, as long as it’s about me and not my family or friends.

I don’t care or expect everyone to like me or vote for me. Unless they like what the see and get to know the person behind the candidate. I am in this to get the message out that their are others out here, who are truly Conservative and for the little people. I have to be, I am one of the small unnoticed people. No I don’t have a staff writing speech’s for me. I wonder how Obama or Clinton would sound if they didn’t have a staff of speech writer’s.

Tell me Bill, who do you see as a truly stand out candidate so far? That you would entrust your children’s or Grand children’s future too? I don’t see one person I would trust with the lives of my children or grand children so far. That’s why I am in this race. I didn’t have grand idea’s it would be easy or that people would just stop and say hey I will vote for him. No I tell everyone I don’t want your vote unless you agree with my views and idea’s…..

“Apparently, John Bootie is a trucker-turned-politician.”

Trust me Bill I am not a politician, I can’t stand them. They lie to your face. They tell each group a different story. Most people I talk to think their all crooks and liars.

“Quite possibly, he is the most unqualified, ignorant, and foolish candidate EVER to run for office.”

Apparently the most ignorant and foolish! Why is it if I differ in views and opinions with a liberal I am ignorant or foolish? Am I to understand that only the liberals and elite have opinions that matter, or are of concern to you?

As for unqualified how is that? The constitution clearly states the only requirement to run for the Office is that you be over 35 and be born in the USA.

“He talks about the importance of education, but he himself is so undereducated that it’s near-impossible to follow his meanderings on his web site. If his writing skills are any indication, he never finished grade school.”

No! Bill I finished High School. Believe it or not. No, I don’t have a college degree do you? I do possess a PhD in commonsense. I truly believe our forefathers who founded this country and wrote the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence possessed PhD’s in commonsense as well. I doubt, any of them had much of an education by today’s standards either. Do you consider them ignorant, foolish and unqualified?

“I really don’t like to beat up on guys, and he’s probably a really nice guy. And I am not beating him up because his views are different than mine.

“I’m writing this because he needs to get a clue:”

Bill trust me. I have a clue, about what I am doing and why I am doing it. Your freedom to criticize me, is one of the reasons.

I am in this because of people who think they can do better. I am just silly enough to stand up and try, is all:-))

I am one of the normal every day guy’s who wants a better life for you and my grand-daughters.

“Nobody’s going to listen to him”

Bill obviously, for you to write this blog, you listened. John the baptist was one crying in the wilderness. Somebody listened to him, or he wouldn’t have been beheaded. Bill, I have gotten the attention of a lot of people. I have even had some ideas spoken about on Hannity’s afternoon show. They won’t mention my name, since I am so unknown. But His producer has been very gracious in talking to us.

“Nobody’s going to take him seriously”

Nobody will take me seriously? OK fair enough. But they didn’t take Einstein or Edison seriously at first either. As long as GOD tells me to keep going, you can count on seeing my website updated more than once a week.

“Nobody’s going to vote for him”

Bill even if I only get the two votes, of my son and I. The race was worth it. For one I have gotten a whole NEW perspective on my son Jason (you talked to him, my campaign manager) and daughter through this whole campaign so far. Second I have meet and gotten to respect a lot of new people. Third I have learned that you can’t always count on your friends or strangers for that matter to help you out.

Thankfully you have a lot of other candidates to choose from out there. But you have to admit, I have given the people who look at my site. A view of what I would fight for on their behalf. No I am not for everyone. I expect to see people who disagree with me. I have a Gentleman heading up Nevada for me. Who still feels as you do. We disagree on almost everything. But he liked my desire to make changes. And offered to help me try to make those changes.

Trust me your rant is clean and mild compared to some emails I have received.

For the record, if you have a different view of things and would like to discuss them. I am open to new idea’s. Or a different perspective on my idea’s….

God Bless you and your family,
John Bootie

Top Ten Mitt Romney Lies

Repugnican 2008 presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is turning out to be a perpetual liar. His latest fib, about “seeing” his father march with Dr Martin Luther King, is receiving a lot of attention in the blogosphere, but this is just one of many lies Romney has fabricated.

In that light, here are the Top Ten Lies told by Mitt Romney:

10. I am a Mormon
9. I am conservative
8. I am a hunter
7. I am the 2nd coming of Ronald Reagan
6. I cried when my church announced it would recognize blacks
5. I don’t get $400 hair cuts
4. I got tough on meth
3. I am tough on illegal immigration
2. My boys have served this country
1. I watched my father march with Martin Luther King
Bonus: #1: I am pro-life

10. Okay, Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Who cares? Obviously, every other religion in the world and many atheists care. They believe Mormonism is at best a disease, and at worst the Devil reincarnate. But I don’t give a damn. There are good Mormons and bad Mormons, just like everything else.

I hate it, though, when anybody stands up and tells me what their faith is. Don’t tell it — do it, be it, act it, live it. If you believe that Charlie Sheen is god, then, dammit, act like it. But don’t tell me, I’ll just think you’re freakin’ crazy.

9. Romney is not a Conservative. None of the self-described Republican candidates have any resemblance to a Conservative, in a fiscal sense or any other sense, except for maybe Fred “Flintstone” Thompson.

8. Brother, P-L-E-A-S-E! First, you were a hunter, without a license, then a varmint hunter. Come on, you hunt for campaign contributions, Elmer.

7. I knew Ronald Reagan, and you’re no Ronald Reagan! (Okay, I “knew” Ronald Reagan like Mitt “saw” his dad march with MLK — see #1 below.)

6. I bet he did, but not for the reason he implied. They weren’t tears of joy he shed, but rather tears of fears. White men are afraid of blacks, especially when it comes to sharing their faith. And aren’t blacks Islamic fundamentalists? That’s what our government and media want us to believe.

5. Right, you get $500 haircuts. You rich bastard.

4. Tough on meth, just like he got tough on all crime. Read more here about his lies on crime fighting.

3. Tough on illegal immigration? Sure.

2. Romney’s sons are serving his campaign, and by ridiculous extension, since he’s running for president, this country. What a crock of bullshit.

1. Romney suffers from dictionary dyslexia. Like Bill Clinton and his “depends on the definition of is…”, Romney is now backpedaling on his physically seeing his father march with MLK to his daddy told him so, to the not-so-literal march in terms of “I had his back.” Such a complete liar.

Bonus #1. As I said before, don’t say it, do it. Romney, by his very actions, was effectively pro-choice. Now he says he’s pro-life. But there is not a shred of evidence to support his lie. Maybe that’s the way he feels, but his actions while an elected official seem to indicate otherwise.

This concludes my Rant against Romney. Surely more lies will surface once Romney realizes he’s losing to a girl. Or a black man.

Bernie Kerik pleads not guilty to charges

Ex-NYC top commish not guilty to charges – Yahoo! News

Kerik, the police commissioner under then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani and a failed nominee for homeland security secretary, was indicted Thursday on 16 counts including conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud and lying to the IRS. Authorities say that over a six-year period, from 1999 through 2004, Kerik failed to report more than $500,000 in income.

But Rudy didn’t know anything about any of this. His police commissioner and nominee for DHS head is a crook and he doesn’t even know it. If President, Rudy might hire Osama bin Laden as his anti-terrorism czar “for his familiarity with al Qaeda.”

What a dumbass.

More on Rudy Giuliani and Bernie Kerik.

Giuliani’s Prostate Cancer Figure Is Disputed – New York Times

Giuliani’s Prostate Cancer Figure Is Disputed – New York Times:

“The citation is an article in a highly respected intellectual journal written by an expert at a highly respected think tank which the mayor read because he is an intellectually engaged human being,” Ms. Comella said in an e-mail message.

I call bullshit.

First of all, Rudy Giuliani is a Neanderthal. Just look at his huge crown, balding scalp, and sweaty palms, not to mention his mouth-breathing, hyperbole-infesting spittle.

Second, this quote, and many others, of statistics shows a mental deficiency known as bullshitism. Rudy is full of the BS. It may be terminal.

Here’s a story from a reliable source, which also quotes the author of the study that Rudy’s campaign falsely and misleadingly quotes.

Furthermore, Rudy is always one to take a personal experience and exploit it to maximum efficacy while forgetting crucial details (just read about Rudy’s five big lies about 9/11 — it’s almost all crap).

This time, he forgets to mention that men who don’t have health insurance are more likely to die sooner than those who don’t, which is the cause the Democrat want to pursue — no health insurance versus having the government run the health care system. It’s funny (i.e., twisted) how the Dems take one stand and the Repugnicans twist it to mean something it isn’t.

Actually, men with prostate cancer are more likely to die sooner if they don’t have health insurance, according to a recent study published in one of the American Medical Association’s journals. Giuliani doesn’t mention that.

(By the way, I think the answer is neither. Rather, we need the government to step in and figure out what the hell happened to the health care industry such that it’s costs rise far faster than inflation. Then, figure out how to unravel the mess. There’s absolutely no reason why an appendectomy should cost $60,000.)

Here’s a video from firefighters telling how Rudy Giuliani is a fraud.

Rudy Giuliani is really no different than George Bush. Well, that’s not entirely true. He is worse, in every way save for religion.

Here’s more on Rudy “The Fraud” Giuliani
